Bicycles, Surfboards and Kayaks

Travelling with a bike

We love seeing bikes on board. Just a heads-up, space is limited, so it’s best to book early and let the team know you’ve got one when you check-in. Things can change close to departure, so a quick heads-up helps us plan.

If you're travelling in a group with bikes, you’ll likely need to book a vehicle space to make sure we can fit everything in.

Off to Aotea Great Barrier? Make sure your bike has lights, especially if you’re riding early or after sunset. The roads are beautiful but can be narrow and twisty with lots of blind corners, so it’s all about staying safe and seen.

Bringing your surfboard or kayak? Here's the lowdown

If you’re travelling with a surfboard, pack it like you would for a flight, safe and secure. Our crew will let you know where to store it when you board for Waiheke. Heading to Great Barrier as a foot passenger? Just a heads-up, there’s a small charge for surfboards on that route during the summer season.

We handle your gear with care, but things can shift during the sailing, so it’s always a good idea to protect your board so it’s ready to ride when you are.

Bringing a kayak? If it’s on or in your vehicle and sticks out, there’s an extra charge,  just make sure to book a space that covers the full length of your vehicle and kayak.

If you’re travelling as a foot passenger with a surfboard, kayak or similar large gear, please contact our Customer Care team when booking so we can help arrange it for you.
