Boarding the ferry

Boarding with a vehicle

We know the thought of reversing a vehicle on to a boat can be daunting. Don't worry, our staff are experts and will help guide you safely on board. Remember to use your mirrors and listen to all instructions from our team.

Boarding by foot

If you're travelling as a foot passenger, we have a loading area for foot passengers to gather. The traffic marshal or crew will direct you when it is time to load. For your own safety we do not allow foot passengers and vehicles to load at the same time. Please follow the crew instructions and walk in the pedestrian areas only.

Unaccompanied vehicles or trailers

Unaccompanied vehicles or trailers can only travel on certain sailings and by prior arrangement which must be made by calling SeaLink on (09) 300 5900. Loading and unloading fees apply per vehicle.

Unaccompanied children

We strongly recommend that a parent or guardian accompany passengers under 14 years of age on all services. Children under the age of 7 years must be accompanied by an adult passenger at all times. Children aged between 7 and 12 years inclusive may travel alone when a Parent and or Guardian completes an 'Unaccompanied Minor' form online or at check-in.

Other information

Parking

While we don’t have parking on site, if you're a foot passenger there's parking located around the marina area. There is 14 hour parking next door to the terminal but if you need longer than this you may need to park on one of the nearby side-streets further up the road.

Dangerous Goods

We regularly operate dangerous good sailings to and from Waiheke and Great Barrier Islands. These sailings have limited space and extra precautions are taken. Dangerous goods can include petrol, diesel, paint, bleach, LPG, car batteries, bees and hay.

Pest-Free Hauraki Gulf

It is important that we work together to ensure that the islands within the Hauraki Gulf are protected from pest species that could disrupt the natural flora and fauna that exist there. We ask that all passengers check and clean their gear to be free of any pest species, dirt or soil before arriving at our terminals.
